What is Reiki and what can it do for you?
Reiki is a powerful Japanese energy healing. It is the universal life energy that is always present in abundance and can be passed on by the laying on of hands. Reiki is based on the belief that an invisible life force energy flows through us and makes us alive. When one's life energy is low we are more likely to get sick, feel stressed or unable to face challenges, and when it is high we are more able to be happy and healthy. It is this flow of energy that enables the body's unique ability to heal itself.
However, the beauty of Reiki is that you don't have to be sick to experience its benefits. The energy naturally flows to the places where it is most needed and activates the body's self-healing ability.
Reiki energy healing helps to make everything you are going through easier, making you feel and function better. It helps you release those things that hold you back and creates a wonderful space for new or improved things to come in. It helps you to be balanced and centered in the midst of all the changes or busyness of life. Instead of dwelling on worry, anger, or fear, Reiki helps you find courage, peace, and calmness. It helps you to be grateful and more aware in your life.
I have seen so many people experience the benefits of Reiki and I have experienced it myself. I have been starting Reiki self-treatment every day for several years now. Many people are impressed by how they feel after a treatment. They experience deep rest, the feeling of being held, calmness, the face relaxes, the body releases the tightness, people breathe more deeply. These may all seem simple things, but how often do we really feel relaxed and peaceful?
You don't need to have any spirituality to enjoy the benefits of Reiki. Many people like to receive Reiki treatments to support themselves on their self-healing journey in spiritual growth and personal development. It helps them create profound, often subtle, shifts from deep within their own being, such as receiving intuitive guidance in difficult situations, a change in attitude or belief about a particular problem or situation. You will look at your situation from a new perspective and that will help you deal with it in a more positive way.
On a physical level, Reiki helps relieve pain from migraines, arthritis, sciatica, to name a few. It also helps with symptoms of asthma, chronic fatigue, PMS, menopausal symptoms and insomnia. Reiki is a wonderful compliment to conventional medicine, especially for people with chronic illness, chemotherapy, radiation or before and after surgery. It helps to calm the nervous system, relieve side effects of invasive or toxic treatments and speed up the healing process. The beauty of Reiki is that it is non-invasive and administered in a very gentle manner. The Reiki practitioner can give Reiki without touching the body in case of burns or serious injuries. Reiki is safe to use if you have medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, or heart disease. Pregnant women can undergo Reiki treatments to support them through all stages of pregnancy. Reiki is for everyone!
People often ask me: How will I feel during a Reiki session?
I cannot answer that question for you. Each session is as unique as you and is tailored to your individual needs at the time. Some clients describe sensations of heat, vibrations or pulses. Others describe a feeling of deep relaxation, images or colors coming to mind or even falling asleep.
If you are new to Reiki, start your Reiki session with an open mind. If you're lying there thinking, "When is it going to start?", "I don't feel anything?" or “Does this do anything?” then you are not in the best mood to relax and enjoy the best experience.
It is natural to wonder what it would be like if you have never experienced Reiki, but everyone is unique and it is impossible to tell you in advance what and how you will experience your Reiki session. Over time, you will also find that each of your Reiki sessions feels different simply because you are in a different state at the time and because of what you need at that time to thrive and feel vital.
What is Distant Reiki and how does it work?
Distant Reiki is a form of Reiki in which a practitioner sends healing Reiki energy to a person who is in a different place and/or time than a practitioner or to a situation in the past, now or in the future.
Distance Reiki works on an ancient principle called the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which means that we are all connected because we are all made of energy and part of a greater whole. Using the distance symbol, practitioners can send Reiki energy over any distance in time or space.
Distant Reiki can help exactly the same problems and conditions as traditional personal Reiki healing. It also offers a productive alternative to hands-on healing. While some people assume that distance Reiki treatments are not as effective as in-person sessions, it may be better in certain situations. Consider the following situations: a client has experienced physical violence in the past, is uncomfortable when touched for any reason, is in hospital or hospice, at the scene of an accident, or any other place where that moment it is not possible to give Reiki personally.
Sometimes being alone during a self-healing process can be extremely powerful for people who are concerned about social dynamics, which can limit their ability to let go emotionally or verbally. Not everyone likes to cry in front of someone else, even if that person is a healer.
How does it work in practice?
At the appointed time for the Reiki distance healing session, make sure you can retire to a quiet area where you will not be disturbed. It is best to put your mobile phone on airplane mode or leave it switched off in another room. The advised position is to lie down in bed or on your yoga mat, with some blankets over you. You may start to feel colder when your body enters a state of deep relaxation. You can darken the room you're in or simply put an eye mask over your eyes. Then take a deep breath in while the Reiki practitioner performs a healing session for you.
You can set a gentle alarm in 35-40 minutes if you need to be somewhere, but many people just want to stay in that deep resting state a little longer.
What are Kinetic Muscle Tests?
Applied kinesiology or simply kinetic muscle testing is based on the fundamental principle that the body (the system) has all the information.
We are incredibly intelligent creatures, but science has shown us that we actually use very little of the total brain capacity. It means that our conscious mind is actually very limited and a much larger part of your brain power lies in the subconscious.
The human subconscious can be compared to a computer that is always on and records everything we experience. It not only stores memories from our lives. It also stores any pain, illness, injury, thought or feeling. We simply recorded the entire history of every single cell in our body and stored it in our subconscious.
Our subconscious knows everything our body needs to be in balance, well-being and optimal health. The problem we experience is that because it is subconscious, we have no direct conscious access to that source.
That's where kinetic muscle testing helps, as it brings unconscious information into consciousness. Our body and its environment consists of an intricate electrical network of pure energy that flows through all the muscles in our body. If something doesn't maintain or improve our body's balance, it will affect our electrical system, and it will show in our muscles. They will temporarily “short circuit” or weaken. Muscles are connected to meridians and meridians are connected to organs. By testing muscles, we can get all kinds of different information.
This way we can see where the problem or imbalance is in your body or in a particular organ. We can test whether the cause of this problem is physical, chemical, emotional or energetic. We can also check whether a certain supplement or food is suitable for you.
I use muscle testing as an aid and as an additional diagnostic tool to obtain certain information. I only do this in consultation with you and with your permission.
